Voters Awareness Initiative is a
non-governmental organisation established to enhance the
sustenance of democratic process as well as to strengthen the
democratic structures in Nigeria.
As a catalyst organisation, Voters Awareness Initiative seeks
to build the capacity of stakeholders in developing the democratic
process and strengthening democratic structures in Nigeria.
Voters Awareness Initiative was established in March 1997 and
registered in March 2007, in response to the need to promote sound
democratic ideals, critical reflection of Nigeria’s brand of
democracy, protection of Human Rights, promotion of Good
Governance, protection of lives and property, zero tolerance for
corruption, encouraging participation of women in politics and
advocating social and economic development. |

civic and political rights and is able to make informed choices in
the democratic process. |

| Our mission is to
ensure that the Vote of every Nigerian counts in any election
through the adherence to sound and transparent democratic
principles in party and political activities. |

2. To increase awareness about the voting culture and the
importance of this to democratic ideals.
3. To create an enabling environment for Nigerian Voters to
